What to do with the Awkward Things during the Move

If you can't sell the awkward items during a garage sale and have to take them in a move, here are a few tips to help you get them to your new home safely. What are awkard things? Anything that won't fit into a cardboard moving box easily.

Wrap your big mirrors, large paintings and other artwork with cardboard boxes and bubble wrap. Use packing tape to secure the edges. Stand them on the side of the truck walls. This is a great example of where a wardrobe box can come in handy. Some larger tools won't fit in packing boxes, so take apart the legs, if able, or wrap them in bubble wrap. Stack boxes on top of table saws and work benches. Fill the area under these items with boxes.

Load garden tools under these tables, or secure them to the wall. If you stack together, roll in bubble wrap, you can tie them to the wall out of the way. Then be sure to keep the nuts and bolts in a plastic bag taped to the furniture, or put into a moving box for the hardware. Put bicycles against a wall and tie them off.
